Hello,
I’m Seoyoung Kwon-Schmitz, a designer dedicated to creating immersive spaces and events. Originally from Korea, I moved between my home country and the US during my upbringing. In 2009, I relocated to New York to attend Pratt Institute, and since graduating, I have pursued a career in the creative field. Before joining CHANEL in 2017 as an events and animation designer, I worked as an architect at an architecture firm and at Jo Malone London, and more recently, as a window design consultant at Eileen Fisher. There, I discovered my passion for interactive and vibrant spatial design.At CHANEL, I have led the creation of numerous events and pop-ups, with notable achievements including the Rockefeller Center pop-up in November 2021 and the CHANCE Diner in September 2023. I believe in the transformative power of exceptional space design. It has the ability to inspire, foster connections, and enhance our daily experiences, making our lives more enriching and meaningful. Outside of design, I am passionate about cooking, though I often indulge before I get a chance to document my culinary creations!
Event at Rockefeller Center
Led the design from concept to execution, managing teams of agencies and internal creative team to create a bold and memorable event at an iconic New York City landmark. The design focused on conveying the legacy and history of the brand’s icon to a broad audience. The use of pure and sleek black-and-white lines contrasted beautifully with the vibrant environment of the New York City landmark.
